Why I Write…

Hey guys! It’s me again. I haven’t kept my promise of posting weekly, but I’m trying so bear with me.

As you all know, this is new for me. People who know me know a lot about me, but at least 90% of the people that know me don’t know I write. After anyone finds out that I like to write poems, they tend to ask why I haven’t shared them in the past or why do I do it? Honestly, I haven’t shared them because it’s kind of embarrassing. People pour their hearts and souls into what they create and I don’t think I’m any exception. Poetry helps me express myself because I don’t always respond to emotions as well as people think I should. Yeah, I may not be the most in touch with my emotions. However, for those moments that I am, great things come out of it. Now, why do I do it? It’s a good outlet. I talk a lot…like more than normal really and sometimes I don’t have enough people to talk to. So I found a different way to share it all and it is better than sharing, in my opinion, with a person. Paper has no opinion of me. It doesn’t think I’m insane or mentally unstable. It simply let’s me manipulate it the way I want to, and it is proud to be useful and I’m proud to be able to use it.

Anyway, I’m thinking about posting the history behind my poems and what kind of led me to write them in the first place. I’m really interested in feedback on the idea if you’re interested in knowing or you can keep creating your own story. Some people have messaged in the last few months, and that was exciting. Feel free to comment and message me. I have not even made a dent in the amount of writings I have, so expect more in the coming weeks!

Thanks for reading my rants.
